At the time of this trip, we were living in Fayetteville, NC. We took the small drive from North Carolina, to D.C. We decided to stay in a hotel on the outskirts of D.C. Each day we would wake up early and take the tram into the city.
This trip was very educational. We are able to see, and sometimes tour, several government buildings. Here is a photograph of the three (or four) of us standing in front of the White House. We also visited the National Zoo and several museums. Michael was in the Army at the time. We took a special interest to military and law enforcement sites. The Pentagon, the FBI Building, and Arlington Cemetery were some of our favorite sites. Brian probably enjoyed the zoo and museums the most. Poor Brian had a hard time keeping up with all of the walking. He was at that age where he was too big to carry or put in a stroller, but too small to be able to keep up.
